Today my mind is revolving around different topics and ideas about the creation process of the artist. I wonder how an artist create original pieces of art, where does he/she obtain new ideas and how this ideas are materialized. I know this is a complex topic, a lot of work, education and practice above all is involved certainly.
I have always been impressed on how a specific moment can be captured and transferred to a canvas or a material. One has to become a true observer of life, to be able to record a moment, an image, a happening, an instance. How many times one has to draw and redraw that same moment again and again in order to be so close to one’s memory.
Suddenly, every time the result is unique. The drawing has in it, the feeling of the author; emotions that were passing through during the time of creation, even the weather of that particular day. The emotion and feeling of the artist is visible in every drawing, sketch or piece of art. One must train the eyes to perceive these “hidden messages” the author has put on his/her work, may be purposely or unconsciously, who knows.
These thoughts have come to my mind now, because I have done a small drawing of the hummingbirds that come to my window everyday to have their sugar shot. My imagination was put to work and the result is quite satisfyingly.
The magic of your memory can be visible with the aid of your hands and skills, let if flow.
