It is true that lines are important to abstract reality in a drawing, but it is also true that lines can distort or even create new realities. It is this magic that artist possess, which makes a creative construction of a personal reality. Lines and shapes are used to construct illusory places and situations.
Every stroke, touch, line that the artist makes is unique, the deepness of color, size, thickness. This in part, is under control but there is a little part of it which is uncontrolled. Every time a line is drawn, billions of particles of paint are being deposited onto the canvas surface. Of course, most of these particles stay in the place where they should be, but there is always a small amount that may scape or scatter.
If we think about it, every stroke is unique in space in time; it will never be repeated again. Therefore, the process of creating an image, a situation, a landscape has uniqueness in itself. That is how every stroke is special.
When the artist come into play, is when those lines are arranged in a specific way, so that the spectator can perceive the artist’s message (sometimes something different than what the artist wanted to convey), and not just only a random assemble of lines and shapes with no sense at all. There are unlimited ways to make everyone’s reality a piece of art, so create your world, make it real.
